Why do I like horror?

Ever since I was young, I've always had a particular taste for horror. I have never looked into it too hard, thinking that it's simply a natural interest for me. After all, I was born in October.
Yet, I've never been one for Horror media outside of ARGs and homemade Youtube films, like No Through Road.
During my Freshman college year, in October of all times, I've become infatuated with the horror genre. Whether it be reviews of movies, args, videos, or games, it has been a large part of my Freshman October month.
To capitalize on this feeling, and my newfound wind in writing essays, I have become inspired to start this gaming/writing challenge.
Revisiting the main point of this page--Horror just straight up intrigues me. I feel a 'buzz' when watching this media. I attribute that to adrenaline, because tension TERRIFIES me when it is done well. But, if something isn't done great, I often find it to be humorous.
The tension itself is what I believe grips me. I yearn for waiting the reveal of a monster, or the big plot twist.
"Since I seem to have such a large love for horror, then why not show what I have watched/played? Some of my favorites even?"I... Uhm...
In Sound Mind? Psychopomp? ...Tattletail?
So, this is why I'm having this challenge to focus on the horror genre: so I can begin to actually engage more in the genre. I wanna play/watch some of the greats, but its hard to play so many in a month. So, I'll probably only do one or two in a single year's Spook-List.
--Anyways, that's just a brief little insight into horror and this challenge.
